Tyra Banks just had this family on her show - The Phelps' - who just said, "All the people that died in 9-11 were perverts and God-haters."

This woman, Shelly Phelps just basically declared the victims of the terrorist attack on our country died because they deserved it. She also said that everyone who is gay and all of those who support homosexuals are God-haters and if they don't "repent" will burn in hell.

Who the hell does this woman thinks she is???????????? And she is teaching her 3 daughters this same awful faith.

Ugh I am so upset. I tried to find some way to email Tyra on her website but was unsuccessful. Needless to say, Tyra cut this stupid bitch off and went to a commercial, saying "The Phelps family will never see this studio again."

Sooo here are the two jackets I'm trying to decide on from The Northface. I looooooove the gray and white one -- it would match perfectly with my ski pants. Buuut, I also really love the white and red one. (Yes, I know they are virtually the same, lol.)

My brother says he can get me a jacket at a discount at the Mid store at school. We are going snowboarding at Sugarbush, VT -- I can't freakin wait!!!!!!!!!!! I hope there is lotsa snow! :-)

So I was just thinking that maybe I should be a nurse. Definitely a pediatrics nurse.

I am at work right now and just spent the last 10 minutes helping a 7-year-old boy who was hysterical about a small cut on his finger. I got down to "his level" and spoke to him in the sweetest and friendliest manner possible. I told him everything I was going to do and that we do nothing at the first-aid stand to hurt anyone. I said that we just want to make the "hurt" go away. I let him hold the gauze on his finger so he could have some control over what was going on. Then, I went back to the station and put some peroxide on a piece of gauze - carefully not to show him what I was doing - and came back and told him I just needed to clean his finger off with "this stuff" that was just like water. I have learned that saying something like HYDROGEN PEROXIDE to a kid sounds really scary. And actually, peroxide doesn't usually sting cuts - open blisters, YES, but cuts usually just bubble up. Sometimes kids feel a little tiny sting but its usually just their injury not from the peroxide. This kid started to say "it hurts" when I was dabbing his cut with the peroxide-gauze so I blew on his finger a little (my mom would blow on my cuts when they stung). In the end, he was completely calm and had stopped crying. I even went and got him a sample ICEE to take his mind off of his finger... 'WORKED LIKE A CHARM! :-)

I attribute my ability to calm children down during this type of incident to my mother. She was a nurse and had an amazing bedside manner. Whenever I was sick or hurt, having her there made me feel 100x better no matter what. She was absolutely amazing. My mom was a nurse for something like 10 years - I always wanted to be a nurse because I enjoy making people feel better but have never been particularly well at science and math (two subjects that you would definitely need).

But, you never know, I could always work for a few years and then go to nursing school. Working in a children's hospital would be my dream. I love making children happy and seeing them smile.

Anyways, that was my greatness point for the day :-) Have a good one guys!

I just ate the most amazing tunafish sandwich ever. A-MAZING. I especially love them after they've been sitting in the fridge wrapped in wax paper for a few hours...the bread is really firm and cool. YUM. LOL I'm sure that sounds a little weird but hey, when you do what I do all day long, eating a good lunch is HEAVEN. Plus, it rained really hard ON ME this morning. YUP I had to run around on deck and close a few stands without an umbrella to keep me covered. So I got completely SOAKED. Now I am all decked out in a lifeguard uniform (complete with small bathing suit top - to replace my wet sports bra - that is cutting off my circulation) instead of my sleeveless polo and kahki shorts. I am almost unrecognizable as an assistant manager. My co-AM told me I looked funny too :-)

We have a storm brewing up near Okechobee and Sebring, Fl that I hope is on it's way down south to hover over our little Coconut Cove water park. Then I could get home on time to have dinner with my dad.

Tonight I think I am going out to Ale House with Dawn and Jessica and some others. Then maybe City Limits in Delray? We will see of course.

Aww last night I had a dream that I had a puppy :-) She was a white lab with light brown spots (LOL yeah kind of a weird color but sooooo cute). I don't remember her name but when I woke up it made me want a dog reeeally bad. I still want to get my dad one - he says he doesn't want a dog but I think it would make a good companion. I don't mean get him a puppy...maybe a trained dog, like the kind people with special disabilities get.

Mmm...Frosted Mini Wheats are good...we are out, so maybe I'll pick some up for breakfast tomorrow! (WOW that was random!)

OMG. Batman Begins was more amazing than I thought it would be. I mean, I knew it was going to be good, but I didn't know it was going to be THAT good. I am in love with the movie....I would go see it a dozen more times. Everyone MUST go see it. If you don't absolutely love it then I would have to call you crazy.

And it's weird, the movie really moved me. I can't really describe it. It's the kind of movie that you clap after. I thought to myself at the ending, "Wow, I hope they make a sequel..." Then I realized what I had just said and felt so stupid. Anyways, go see the movie, it is way too good to pass up.

I thought it only fitting to make today's entry a tribute to my wonderful Mother, God Rest her soul.

This is my second Mother's Day without her but it is easier than last year. Last year it had only been about 2 months since she passed away so it was so soon. Me, Jenny, and Dad went to visit her this morning. There were a lot of other people at the cemetery too, visiting their mother's. We brought Mom flowers and I read her a card I bought for her. At 2 PM we went to lunch at Macaroni with Grandma. (My G-ma is so funny, she tried to pay for the meal!!!)

Dear Mom,
I love you so much. I hope you know how much I care about you and how much you mean to me. I don't know if I showed you often enough while you were still here with us. I kno you are perched on your cloud in Heaven watching over us, today especially. Being around Grandma reminds me so much of you. Dad's doing OK - he still gets so torn up whenever certain songs come on the radio. Keep sending him your strength. I love you so much and miss you too.

I'm in the Broadcast studio right now working on our newshow. I don't have too much to do but it's going to take me a little bit. I came with Amy - after we went for some DQ - and she is practicing a presentation with her group for tomorrow. She said they'd be here no later than 11/11:30 PM. So I can work with that.

I'm gonna miss my Amy a lot when I graduate :-( And I'll gonna miss Jess, Megan, Ashley, Angie, Pam, Vicki, Sarah, and Kye too. It's fun and exciting to be moving onto a new part of my life like this, but it's also really sad too. Kind of scary also. But, my Mom and God are watching out for me. I have faith in Them.

Does anyone know or listen to the band Our Lady Peace? They have been one of my favorite alt. rock bands since I was in middle school. They are also one of the first bands I ever LOVED growing up. I have 3 of their albums and just looked on their website and discovered that they have a 4th one that was just released this March! I've seen them only once in concert at the last Buzz Bakesale that I got to go to when I was a senior in high school. They played in WPB at the Coral Sky Amphitheater (different name). I seriously never get sick of their music.

I first fell in love with them with their song "Superman's Dead." I also really love "Somewhere Out There", "Annie's Song", and many others. I think the band is pretty hot too ;-) I am a huge dork and just joined the community Our_Lady_Peace (I'll put the comm. link in whenever I get back to my computer).

So in other news...

I am still sick. :-( I feel a little better but still kind of stuffy. I don't feel as crappy as I did last night, thankgoodness. Ian was such a sweetheart last night ;-) he came over and took me to the drugstore to get Vitamin C for my cold! He slept over too, which I originally didn't think was a good idea b/c I needed to get my rest, but things turned ended up working out anyways. I took the C, some Vitamin A, and 2 NyQuil and was passed out till I woke up for work at 7 a.m. I tossed a few times last night; at one point Ian was laying on top of me :-D it was kinda funny! I woke up this morning, took my shower to wake me up, and left my boyfriend sleeping in my bed :-P He doesn't have class Friday's either - like me - so I'm sure he'll sleep in and lay around in my bed for a while. Oh and 10 bucks says he cleans my room for me while I'm gone too ;-) He just better not go searching for the dress I bought for formal!!! I don't want him to see it until tomorrow night.

Yeah so tomorrow night is our ZTA Spring Formal. We're having it at The Club at Eaglebrook and it's called "A Red Carpet Affair." I just bought our T-shirts from Amy our social chair last night. Ian's Lambda Chi formal is tonight...it's a dinner boat cruise! There are a lot of other ZTA's going too: me, Lindsay H, Quiana, Noelle, Katie G, Tara, and I think more? Cristen V just called me and told me she has a few dresses for me to try on if I want to wear a different dress tonight instead of the one I bought for our formal. I was planning on wearing the same dress both nights until she called me a little while ago. The dress I bought is long, satin, and champagne-colored with this rhinestone pin in the center where the material seperates and comes up into straps that tie around my neck. It's a really comfortable form-fitting dress that really shoes off and accentuates my curves. The problem I'm having now is finding shoes and a bag to go with it. I think I'll do my hair in soft big curls and I just bought some gold eyeshadow last night. Not sure what else I'll do... I also have to go tanning today after work - $5 for a 10 minute tan works for me!!! OH and my dress - I got it for $95!!! How awesome is that?? Mom was totally helping me out last night - especially since I bought the dress right when the mall was closing. My Daddy has been really awesome, helping me out financially. I owe him a lot so I'm going to make sure I pay him back this summer. Graduating from college will also be a BIG "Thank You" too.

So another one of our ZTA sisters got engaged!!! We had a surprise Candleight at 10 p.m. and Rebekah blew out the canlde and told us the story of how her boyfriend Denny proposed to her on Wednesday night! The ring is really cute - smaller than rings we've seen in the Zeta house before, but still really nice. She said its his grandmothers wedding ring and she passed away recently. It's platnium and has 4 additional diamonds on the wedding band. I am really happy for her - she's graduating this April too and she told us they are trying to plan on a May wedding next year. SO CUTE!!!

OMGOODNESS...I am at work at The Ledger and I just heard on the TV that the Pope has died!!! :-O I can't believe it! He has had a high fever from a UTI or bladder infection and had Parkinson's too.

I have 6 weeks of school left and I don't want to go back. I have to go back in about 4 hours. There is nothing in me that wants to continue. I just feel like I have no free time at all, not to mention no time to get my work done.
